BAINBRIDGE ISLAND – Firefighters doused a fire in a home on Miller Road Wednesday evening. No injuries were reported in the incident, according to the Bainbridge Island Fire Department.
Fire Chief Hank Teran said units were called to the scene at about 5:45 p.m. Firefighters found heavy smoke coming from the eaves of the home and made an aggressive attack on the blaze, which started in the kitchen, he said. Investigators determined the fire was accidental and was caused by combustibles placed on a stovetop.
North Kitsap Fire and Rescue, the Poulsbo Fire Department and the Bainbridge Island Police Department assisted at the scene.
