Frontier and American Airlines Launch More Nonstop Flights To Caribbean Islands

American Airlines Launches First Ever Direct Flight From The U.S. To Dominica

Up until now Dominica, the nature island of the Caribbean, has only been accessible via intra-regional flights in the Caribbean.

American Airlines has launched its first-ever nonstop flights from the United States to Dominica.

The new service runs twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays from Miami to Dominica.

These new flights are sure to be a boom for Dominica, an island known for its hiking, diving, adventure, and eco-tourism opportunities.

Prime Minister Skerrit expressed excitement for the inaugural flight:

“Dominica is now within closer reach of our nationals, many of whom live in cities across the United States,” the Prime Minister said. He added,  “This provides a better opportunity for them to travel home more readily to connect with friends and family.”

Dominica is currently open for tourism under the country’s Safe in Nature health and safety program.

American Airlines Launches Nonstop Flights To Anguilla

American Airlines launched a new nonstop service between Miami and Anguilla on Dec. 11, making it the first carrier to offer a flight from the mainland U.S. to that island.

The flight currently operates twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays but will begin operating three flights a week on Jan. 5, 2022.

“We are thrilled and delighted that American Airlines is already incorporating additional service to our island, a testament to the strong demand for Anguilla and the premium tourism product that we offer,” said Stacey Liburd, Anguilla’s Director of Tourism.

Anguilla is currently open for tourism with low Covid-19 rates- see the latest entry requirements.

“We have worked extremely hard to provide a safe and enjoyable vacation experience to our visitors, with transparent entry protocols and now easier and more convenient access than ever before,” said Kenroy Herbert, Chairman of the Anguilla Tourist Board.
